CRISPR/Cas9 license agreement for ERS Genomics and CIEA

Dublin, Ireland, 7 April 2022: ERS Genomics Limited (‘ERS’) is pleased to announce a license agreement with Central Institute for Experimental Animals (“CIEA”) in Japan. This is a non-exclusive licensing agreement granting CIEA access to the ERS CRISPR/Cas9 patent portfolio.

ERS, co-founded by Dr. Emmanuelle Charpentier, 2020 Nobel Prize winner for gene-editing, provides access to the foundational CRISPR/Cas9 intellectual property. Eighty-nine patents are held in over eighty countries.

CIEA is a private and independent non-profit institute, founded in 1952, with the aim of contributing to medical care and medical science based on the ethical use of animals in modelling of diseases and treatments.

Financial details of the agreement are not disclosed.
